First child born in the new year in Ogden was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Sugihara, 2571 Lincoln ave., reported St. Benedict's hospital. The Infant weighed slightly more than 4 Lbs. and arrived at 12:45 a.m. Sunday. It will be the recipient of a variety of awards which the first child of the year receives annually, including gifts from Ogden merchants.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Thompson Rees, 62, who was fatally injured Friday in an automobile accident, will be conducted Tuesday noon by Lee Dalebout, bishop, in Le Grand ward. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1078 McClelland st. The accident occurred on U S. 89, six miles east of Nephi Friday at about 3 p.m. Mrs. Rees was the wife of Dr. Nephi J. Rees 1012-llth East. Friends may call at 36 E. 7th South until Monday at 8:30 p.m and Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Salt Lake City cemetery.
