Mr. add Mrs. J. F. Manuel have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Edna Mae, to Martin Edward Binnion Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Binnion Sr., of this city. The wedding will be held at 8 p. m. Wednesday at Grace Episco- pal Church. Rev. Lionel T. DoForest, rector, will officiate. Mrs. J. T. Hammonds will be the brides only attendant. Joe Manuel Jr., will be best man. Miss Manuel will be honored with a hosiery shower at 3 p. m. Tuesday by Mrs. Gilbert Rogers at her home, 20 Cedar Lawn South. She was complimented with a lingerie shower Friday by Mrs. T. E. Myers, Mrs. William Tanner and Mrs. J. T. Hammonds, Games were played and prizes were won by Dorothy Gernard and Mrs. Ben Brown.

Members of the Island Garden club will meet from 2 to 4 p. m., Wednesday at the Community Hall, 59th street and Avenue R for their first session of the new year. Mrs. Rachel Holmes, president, said the club members will discuss making decorative bottle ornaments and dish gardens.

TEXAS CITY, Jan. 2nd. Mrs. Clarence W. Agee was admitted to German Hospital, in Houston, Sunday for treatment and observation.

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson J. Mikeska spent the weekend in Houston visting in the home of Mr. Mikeska's sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Rust and daughters, Shirley Ann and Judy, have returned home from a visit In the home of Mrs. Rust's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Harmon, in Cushing, Ok. En route home they visited Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Broyles n Longview.

Miss Carolyn Jordan returned to Austin today to resume her studies n the University of Texas after having spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mra. Roland C.Jordan.

Charles Cozzens, student at Texas A&M College, returned to Bryan today following a visit in the home of hls parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Cozzens.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Byrne and son, Mike, of Houston, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil M. Hopper and children of Beaumont visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Aarlle during the holidays.
