Mrs. Naomi Compton, who has been with her daughter, Mrs. Norman Brown, of near Oliveburg, for some time, has returned to her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Moot.

John W. Moot, of New York state, came home to cast his vote for Taft and spend a couple weeks with his parents.

W. N. Peffer, of Barnesboro, is visiting his mother.

Job Brown, jr., of Oliveburg, spent a day with his uncle, W. H. Moot, last week.

Mrs. Harry weaver, of Rochester Mills, visited her mother, Mrs. Lavina Peffer, last week.

Harvey Orr and family have moved here from Creekside.

Mrs. Emerson Sprankle and two children visited her grandfather, Cort Neal, of near Hamilton, last week.

Arthur Siverling, of Dubois, came down for a couple days hunt with his cousins, John and Elmer Homan. The second day the dog scared up a rabbit, and Elmor thinking his brother and cousin were above him fired at it. But Mr. Siverling was in range of the shot and about 34 entered his legs. He was brought home and Dr. Morrow attended him and the young man was able to go home Friday. Elmer accompanied him home, returning Saturday.

Sam Fisher was called here by the illness of his wife, who is with her mother, Mrs. Orr.

William North and two friends, of Punxsntawney, spent a couple days hunting in this vicinity. W. 0. Brown, of this place, accompanied them and they succeeded in bagging live rabbits and five birds.

C. A. Rosborough, of Bellwood, spent last week here hunting.

Rev. Berkey preached for Rev. Stabley at Trade City Friday evening.

Mrs. Sarah E. Blair and grandson, Carlton Blair, of New Bethlehem, spent Sabbath with her sister, Mrs. S. T. Peffer. Iddo Small, son of J. T. Small, employed at Monongahela City, is visiting his father here.

Mrs. Clair Smith, of Locust, and her sister, Miss Zilla Rosborough, visited their parents Saturday and Sabbath.

Misses Angus and Mangus Sprankle, of Trade City, visited their brother, Emerson, Sunday.

Jacob Stormer, of near town, went to Indiana Saturday to attend the funeral of his uncle, Charley Stormer.

Oliver Fry and wife, of Indiana, and Ollie Lowry, of near Indiana, were visitors here last week.

Mrs. Flora Work Miller, of Mercer, Pa., was here last week to visit her mother, Mrs. Maria Stewart Work, who at the age of 80 years is living with her daughter, Mrs. S. S. Wetzell.

Mrs. J. Murray Thompson, of Heilwood, and Mrs. James Morris, of Punxsutawney, were here last week to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex. S. Work, of near town.

Rev. J. N. McCoy preached at Rayne church Sabbath last, Rev. Powell at Marion Center and at Plumville, and Rev. Sheets at Covode and Georgeville. Our reverends are a busy lot of men.

S. W. Condron and wife, of Smicksburg, visited friends here.

H. M. Zimmerman, of town, William Fleming, of Sagamore, and G. A. Wood, of Shelocta, hied themselves to the mountains where they will hunt and recuperate their strength for the winter.

Ella M. Douds and Lula Johnston, teachers, report good attendance of pupils and half a dozen visitors each for the month of October.

Miss Margaret Whittaker had a genuine surprise October 31. Some friends from Vandergift and some home friends got together and invaded her home. They left a number of valuable gifts and Miss Whittaker was delighted.

Paul Sabo, a Hungarian miner who was fatally hurt last week, died at Grube's hospital in Punxsutawney. Sabo had been at work in a heading when a large fall of rock dropped down upon him breaking his back.

Mrs. Licinda Spencer, of West Mahoning, was 90 years old on the 3d of November. She is quite rugged yet and does a number of household duties.

Attorney George Lukehart and family, of Dubois, are visiting his mother, Martha Lukehart.

Harry Stear is ill with pneumonia.

Hileman Good, of Dayton, bought the store of D. A. Richey and D. A. Lukehart last Friday.

A. J. Walter and wife, of Butler, were guests of his uncle, Adam Black, and other relatives here last week.

T. A. Lukehart, wife and son, Max, of Dabois, is visiting their parents in this place.

Mrs. Henry Elkin and daughter, Maggie, of Pittsburg, were guests of friends here last week.

Mrs. Arthur Kinter was a Saltsburg visitor Saturday.

Hugh Lowman was visiting friends in Bellwood Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.

A couple of dogs from Iselin killed two fine sheep belonging to William Rosborough Friday. The owner could not be found as nobody claims the dogs when the assessor comes around.

Rev. Gettman held communion services in the Presbyterian church Sabbath.

Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Mack and two children, of Robinson, spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Mack's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Roser.

Miss Lula Ferrier, of Indiana, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. J. Ferrier, near town.

Ralph and Dora Lydic, of Sample Run, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Reeseman on Sunday.

Ralph Altemns, of Johnstown, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Altemns.

Harry Wilson, who is employed in Johnstown, is spending a few days here at his home.
