An eight pound, eleven ounce baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Luzier of Clearfield at 10:28 a. m yesterday (Tuesday) at the Clearfield Hospital.

After spending a 15 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd F. Stone of West Decatur, R. I., DuPont D. Stone has returned to the 36th Air Base Group, Jackson, Miss. On August 27, Pvt Stone was graduated from Chanute Field branch Air Corps Technical School, Rantoul, ILL.

The Misses Marguerite and Janet Reese are visiting this week in Cleveland, Ohio, with Mr and Mrs. Thomas Whyte.

Mary Jeanette Bixel, who was graduated recently from the St. Lukes and Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, is vacationing with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bixel on Cherry street.

Visitors with Rev. and Mrs. H. E. Gauntt on Tuesday, were Mrs. Bennett Mitchell, Mrs Gauntt's sister, and two daughters, Elaine and Annetta, Mrs. W. S. Fritz and Mrs. Cora Head, Mrs. Gauntt's mother, all of Johnstown.

The announcement was made Saturday, September 13, of the engagement of Margaret Kendrick, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. George Grant Kendrick, 206 Orchard Place, Edgeworth, formerly of Clearfield, to William Gerald McFarland, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McFarland, West Fifth avenue, Clearfield. The date for the marriage has been set for January 24, 1942.
