Mr. and Mrs. James Brunson
spent their first wedding anniversary,
Jan. 2, in Cleveland with relatives.
They were accompanied
by Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Moody
and Mrs. James Kennebrew. The
Brunsons reside on North Mulberry.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wayne and sons Michael and Gary of Columbus motored up to spend a few hours with their uncle and aunt, Rev. and Mrs. A. J. Payne and cousins, the William Golders and the Donald Fergusons, last Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Herbert Towles of Sandusky spent last weekend with Mrs. Augusta Hawkins and Miss Bernita Hawkins. The Hawkins family live at 55 South Foster street. Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Wisdom, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts, Mrs. John James and Mrs. Russia Hines motored to Cleveland last Sunday to attend the Past Exalted Rulers and the Past Daughter Rulers Council of District No. 1, Council 15, I.B.P.O.E. OF W. The Mighty Majestic Lodge of Cleveland was host to this affair. Miss Betty Lou Duncan, who was home for a Christmas vacation, has returned to Lexington, Miss., where she is a student at Saint's Industrial and Literary School. A program was given in her honor at the Church of God in Christ before she left. Mrs. Earl Burke accompanied by her daughters and son, Mrs. Bertha Hoke and Margaret and Russell Burke, were in Cleveland last weekend visiting relatives and friends. They returned home last Sunday night. Rev. J. E. Ward, pastor of the St. John's Holiness Church is still visiting in Boston and is expected to return home Jan. 20. A single-ring ceremony at the home of the bride, Jan. 8 at 10:30 a. m., united, in marriage Miss Shirley Elaine Weaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weaver of Bellville, and Alfred W. Laser, son of Alva Laser, R. D. 3, Shelby. Rev. A. H. McLain, pastor of the Presbyterian church, officiated. The bride wore a royal blue satin street-length dress, with black and white accessories, and a white orchid. Her maid-of-honor was the bridegroom's sister, Miss Delia Laser, who wore a dark green crepe dress with black accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Howard Guthrie of Shelby, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man. Immediately after the ceremony a luncheon was served to members of the immediate families. After a short wedding trip the couple has returned to their home, 186 South Main street in Bellville. Mrs. Laser is a graduate of Bellville high school and a member of the Treble choir of Mansfield. Mr. Laser, a graduate of Shiloh high school, served 21 months in the U.S. Navy- He is employed at the Ohio Public Service company in Mansfield.
