Miss Helen Whal and Miss Helen Giltner entertained at a luncheon Tuesday in Omaha at the home of Miss Giltner for Miss Elizabeth Sturdevant of that city, whose marriage to Clayton Nichols of Omaha will take place January 14. Miss Sturtevant attended the state university and was a member of Alpha Phi with Miss Wahl and Miss Giltner, who are attending the university this year.

Mrs. E. D. Traver, 1601 North Twenty eighth street, gave a birthday party Tuesday afternoon for her son, Frank Traver, who celebrated his eleventh birthday. Twelve guests were present.

C. LeRoy Meisinger, who has been visiting his parents and friends the past ten days, left Sunday for St. Louis to attend the meeting of the American meteorological society after which he will go to Washington, D. C., where he is employed in the weather bureau and is taking post graduate work in meteorology in the George Washington university.

Paul Dean Phelps of Omaha and Miss Malzie Ray or Central City were married Wednesday noon at the First Congregational church, Rev. John Andrew Holmes officiating. Miss Ray was a student at the university school of music in 1917 and 1918. Mr. Phelps is the son of Ernest Phelps who formerly lived in Lincoln.

Mrs. Williams of 1934 Garfield street, who has been ill for about three weeks and has undergone treatment at St. Elizabeth's hospital, is improving rapidly and will soon be taken to her home.

Miss Rose Reynolds entertained twelve guests Wednesday afternoon at her home, 2020 South Twenty fourth street. Games and dancing furnished the afternoon's amusement.

Mrs. Wesley Clark and Mrs. N. V. Coplen entertained twenty guests informally, Wednesday afternoon, in honor of Mrs. Burr Boylen of Cincinnati, Ohio, who is spending the holidays with friends in Lincoln. Pink roses were used in decoration.

The Rev. and Mrs. W. W. Bolt will welcome members of the Plymouth Congregational church and other Lincoln friends informally at their home, 1331 South Seventeenth street, New Year's day from 3 to 5 p m, and from 7 to 10 p.m.

The marriage of Miss Wilma Walvoord to August P. Mass took place Wednesday afternoon in Omaha. The bride wore a traveling sun of blue tinsel tone. Mr. and Mrs. Mass will return to Lincoln to spend a few weeks with friends and relatives after which they will be home in Omaha after January 15.

Mr.and Mrs. E. L. Pothast went to Omaha on a business trip Wednesday.

Mrs. Anna Maul, twenty six years old, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home, 1016 New Hampshire St. Interment will be in Wyuka.

John W. Daugherty, sixty four years old, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home twelve miles east of Lincoln. He leaves two sons, W. J. and Roy living on the home place his wife Martha died last July. He leaves three brothers and five sisters, services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Castle Rege And Matthews chapel. Interment will be in Wyuka.

Joseph P. Kirkman, forty nine years old, died in Lincoln at 4:10 a. m. Wednesday. His home was at 1645 Vine street. He is survived by his wife and two grown sons. The family moved to Lincoln from Oak, Neh., about three months ago, that the son might attend the state university. The body was taken to Roberts undertaking parlors. It will be taken to Nelson, Neb., Thursday.

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Sarah E. Smith, mother of the late Mrs. Paul H. Holm. Mrs. Smith's death occurred at the residence of Paul H. Holm in Pasadena, Cal., December 18, 1919, where she has made her home for the past ten years.

Mr. Clark and Mrs. Julia Goeller and Joseph B. Grabher and Florence M. Grabouski were married by County Judge Reid.

Tho body of Mrs. Charles Youd was taken Monday afternoon to Rock island Il., for burial.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene L. Milligan, 229 South Eleventh street, a girl.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. North, 2405 Sewell street, a boy.
