Hugh W. Jones will return Tuesday to his home in San Antonio, Tex., after a week's visit with his mother in the county.

Mrs. Marvin Garrett of Atlanta, Ga., was a guest of Mrs. Catherine Mallory, Friday.

Mrs. Charles Armfield and daughter, Mary Etta, and Miss Ophelia Ring of Elkin were guest of Mrs. Frank P. Lewis Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs H. R. Rice, Jr., of Lancaster, S. C., s p e n t the weekend with Mrs. Rice's parents. Mr. and Mrs. James W. Seville, North Center street.

Mrs. A. B. Rayner returned home after visiting in Washington the past week. She was accompanied by her brother, W. P. Dillon Jr., of Washington who will spend a few days here with his mother, Mrs. W. P. Dillon Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Fanjor and daughter, Sarah Allison, returned to Knoxville, Tenn., after having spent the past few weeks with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Davenport and Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Fanjoy.

Mr. and Mrs. Chester E. Boxx and children, Eugene, Dennis and Deborah, have returned to their home in Jacksonville, Fla., after spending several days with Mrs. Boxx mother, Mrs. Addie Myers, Union Grove.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Rollinson have returned to their home in East Prenbroke. N. Y., after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bishop on Monticello drive.

Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Donaldson, Celia and Charles Donaldson, were in Greensboro Saturday attending annual May Day exercises at Woman's college. Miss Hilda Donaldson is a freshman at the college and is in the exercises.

Miss Betty Sue Hendren bride-elect of Robert Paul Hendren bride-honored at a bridal shower Saturday night by Mrs. Lynn Mays White and Miss Rachel White at the Rockey Springs community building. Hiddenite. The recreation hall was decorated with mixed spring flowers. The honoree was presented a corsage of white lilies. The guests were presented "Spring bride's maid hats" which were fashioned from cookies, pastel marsh-mallows, pastel ribbon and lilies of the valley. There were 45 guests present. The bride-elect was presented gifts of linen, china, crystal and other useful household items. Games were supervised by Mrs. Jimmy B. Allen and prizes went to Mrs. Pleas lackey. Miss Nell Lackey, and Mrs. Bob Wiles. The hostesses were assisted in serving refreshments by Mrs. Lex Allen and Miss Nora Allen.

Miss Patricia Stilwell was honored Wednesday afternoon from 4:30 to 5:30 at a Coca-Cola by Miss Rebecca Lentz, at her home on the Salisbury road.
