Mrs. J. B. Bridges came home Sunday from Hattisburg, after several weeks stay there in the infermary under medical treatment. Mrs. Bridges many friends will be rejoiced to know that her health is much improved and that she is gaining strength every day.

W. R. Moseley has been appointed collector of customs at Gulfport.

H. N. Smith of Winson county last week sold a six months old pig, which weighed 150 pounds, for $14.50.

B. F. Speed one of the best known and highly esteemed citizens of Covington county, died at his home on the 5th instantly.

E. H. Erickson and family, for several years residents of Meridian, have moved to Southern Illinois, where they will make their future home.

Rev. J. A. Park, former pastor of the Presbyterian church at Corinth, died recently at Wylam, Ala., and was buried Monday in the cemetery at the first named place.

A. K. Knight, a popular Statesman on the Mobile and Ohio road, was run over and killed Friday night near Tipton, not far from Meridian. It is thought he fell between the cars passing over the train.
