Saturday in the city with friends.
H. A. Dutton, an operative of the Burns Detective Agency at Kansas City, who has been here for the past few days on business, returned to his home Friday night. Miss Marian Brown returned Friday from a week's visit with her aunt, Mrs. Al Tanner, at Kansas City. Dr. and Mrs. A. W. Thompson of Kansas City arrived here Friday night to spend Saturday and Sunday in this city with friends. Miss Erma Griffin of St. Joseph will arrive Sunday for an extended visit with her sister, Mrs. Charles Ackinson. Dr. Seizer and family of San Barnedo, Texas, are expected soon for an extended visit with the E. C. Orr family. Mrs. Seizer is Mr. Orr's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hesse of St. Joseph are spending a few days as guests of relatives and friends in this city. Miss Edith Taylor left Saturday for her home in Marceline after having attended school here the past season. L. V. Wood of Laredo was a Saturday business visitor in this city. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Cook and Miss Mary Tague have returned to 0tumwa, Ia., after an extended visit at the Brockman home in this city. Miss Mary Bummer returned to her home near Purdin Saturday after a week's visit in this city with her sister, Miss Eliose. Everett A. Scott of Kansas City, a former Chillicothe boy, will spend Sunday in this city with friends. Mrs. V. B. Stone of Excelsior Springs who has been visiting her parents in Vermont, Ill., came in on Friday evening to spend two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Stone. Her husband will join her here Sunday, it being his birthday. Mrs. Angie Lowman of shelbyville is a guest at the Bryan home on North Locust Street. Gus Wetzel of Braymer was a business visitor in the city today. S. P. Davidson of Bethany is a visitor in the city. Spencer Golden of the Polo Herald was in the city Friday transacting business and made The Constitution a fraternal call. Earl Farrington, whose hand was crushed in an ice cream freezer last Thursday, was reported doing as well as could be expected today. John J. May of Chula, one of Chillicothe's leading farmer, was in the city Saturday transacting business. Mrs.J. T. Bradshaw returned to Kansas City today after a meeting of the Industrial Home Board of Control and a visit with friends. Mrs. Frank Fulkerson is expected next week to be a guest at the Knapp home. Louis Dahl is expected to arrive tonight from Hannibal on a visit with his people. He will play with the Chillicothe Concert band during fair week. C. A. Gibbons, living north of town, had a fine hog killed by lightning Friday evening. Miss Pearl Hames of Webb City was a guest at the Leeper Saturday. Robert and Mabel McCue of Jamesport, are visitors at the conference. Thos. B. Stone and wife of Utica were over Friday and attended the conference. Mary Langford returned Saturday from a visit with relatives at Kansas City. Miss Mae Lipmansen of Chicago is visiting her mother, Mrs. N. Lipmansen. Mrs. H. M. Davis of Richmond is attending the conference and visiting relatives. W. B. Leach returned Friday night from a trip through the western part of the state. Charlie Scruby returned Friday from a months visit at Colorado Springs and other Colorado points. Miss Anna Hurxthal will leave on a two weeks vacation soon with friends in Wichita and Mo. Mrs. J. T. Milbank will leave Monday for an extended visit with Dr. and Mrs. H. L. Ulrich in Minneapolis, Minn. George Werttiman will leave Monday for Colorado Springs where he has a position, in the roller mills. Over two hundred students of the Normal attended the social given by Prof. Allen Moore in Chapel hall Friday night. Mrs. A. C. Wilson of Brooksfield is in the city visiting her mother, Mrs. DeLano. She will remain until after the fair. Miss Laura Gill of Chillicothe, is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. Sarah Kelso, and daughter in this city. Miss Laura Eames, who has been a guest of Miss Catha Wells for several weeks,leaves on her return to St. Louis Monday. John Langford returned Saturday from Arizona where he has been employed for the past few months in a brickyard. Misses Lou Etta Brosius of Gallatin and Louise Smith of Linneus will arrive the first of the week on a visit to Miss Alice Grace. Hugh M. Ware left Saturday morning for Carthage where he goes to take the chair of languages in the Carthage Collegiate Institute. Herbert Kittridge returned Friday night from Kansas City where he went to make arrangements for entering the Dental school there this fall. Mrs. E. Carney of Chillicothe, Mo., returned home today after a visit with Misses Josie and Nora White, 1240 Railroad street. Mrs. Mary Stafford has returned from Cherryvale, Kas., to Brookfield where she was called by the illness of her sister, Mrs. Harry Shour. Mrs. Shour is reported to be much improved.
