in that city.
John Sartoris attended the state basketball tournament at Lansing recently. Jay Tobin, city engineer, recently underwent an operation at Trinity hospital in Ashland. Miss Gloria Nystrom who is employed in Detroit, visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Nystrom. of this city this past week. Slav Kalan, Yale location was taken to the Newport hospital last Friday. He received injuries while at work at the Anvil-Palms mine. Francis Zawlocki left last Friday for Ft Riley. He spent a 30 day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zawlocki of Bessemer. Mrs. Andrieta Moccardini left Tuesday night for New York. She will embark today on the Queen Mary for Italy, where she plans to visit relatives and friends. Mrs. Moccardini will also visit points in Switzerland and France. Mrs. Asunta Sciarini left Tuesday for New York for a return visit to Italy. Mrs. Sciarini visited. that country last year. She expects to stay there for an indefinite time. Supt. E. J. Oas left Tuesday for Lansing. Mr. Alex Gesmondi left Tuesday night for New York from where he will embark for Peidmont, Italy. He will visit with friends and relatives in that country. Mr. Gesmondi left Italy for the U. S. 42 years ago. Mrs. William Maccani and daughter, Dianne returned Sunday from Kirkland, Wash. Mrs. Maccani visited her parents for the past two weeks. Clyde Coxey left Wednesday for Chicago where he will spend several days on business. Stanley Servia will leave Friday for Milwaukee to spend a few days visiting friends. Donald Skwor, a student at Michigan State, is visiting here during the spring vacation. Barbara Ann Contratto. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Contratto of Inglewood, CaL, will celebrate her llth birthday anniversary on March 25th.
