Wakefield visitor on Monday.
Hon. J. S. Monroe of Ironwood, was a city visitor on Monday. W. W. Turner returned the first of the week from a trip to Chicago. Chas Fournier left last week for a visit with friends at Neenah, Wis. Postmaster J. W. Bedell, of Wakefield, was in town last Saturday. Miss Amelia Anderson left last Friday evening for Kalamazoo, Mi. Mrs. A. D. Johnston was the guest of Ironwood friends last Saturday. Carl Solberg attended to business matters at Ironwood on Tuesday of this week. Attorney M. M. Riley of Milwaukee was in ihe city on legal business on Monday. Mr.and Mrs. A. L. Rice, of Abbotsford, Wis., have been visiting in the city this week. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Osborne have a baby son at their home, born on Tuesday of this week. Supt. Ceo. Rupp of the Ashland Iron & Steel company transacted business at Ashland Wednesday. Mrs. Henry Pearson of Toledo, a former resident of this section visited Sunday with friends here. She will visit a daughter in Jackson and one in Grand Rapids before returning home. Charles Godfrey and wife visited with friends in Marengo and Parma last week. Miss Julia Wholahan, who has been visiting her brothers in Detroit and Jackson for the past month returned home last week. J. H. Woodruff of Chicago is spending a few days at the home of G. A. Kelly, taking in the country air and eating strawberries. Louise Garin who was seriously ill last week is able to be out again. David Adams and wife visited friends in Charlotte Sunday. Mrs. Oswell and Wallace Southworth, of Albion visited at C. E. Southwells last week. Vivian Titus and Mrs. Francis Husted of Battle Creek, Mrs. Shaddock and Mrs. Rozell of Denver, Colo., visited at C. R. Fishs last week. Jennie McCormick returned from Ypsilanti last week where she has been attending school the past week. Ray Lamphier spent Sunday in Carverville. Mr. and Mrs. Will Raymond and daughter Edna spent Saturday and Sunday at Five Pointe. Mrs. T. E. Tanner is very ill at this writing. Fred and Elmer Sanders, M. J. Zimmerman, W. J. Luek and Framk Miller spent Saturday at Olivet. The Sunday school held a social at Philip Porrs Thursday evening. Janette Eyer Climax is a guest of her friend Nellie Taylor. Clara Washburn entertained a company of friends Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Bradford preached at the Presbyterian church Sunday. Mr. Bosworth, of Olivet spent Friday at Mrs. L. D. Rogers. MiSS Luella Sanders who is at Colorado Springs, writes her parents of a very pleasant journey through the west and sight seeing in the mountains. Mrs. Miller and daughter spent a few days last week in Marshall. Miss Nellie Nash and Miss Cora Milbourn spent the last of the week in Battle Creek. Walter Luff of Battle Creek is home or a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Biery returned from Coldwater Saturday. Mrs. Fred Sleeper is visiting her children in Battle Creek. Mrs. Henry French and Mrs. Alva French spent last week in and near Albion. Miss Anna Wahl is home for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Wickman visited at O. B. Packard's Sunday. Peter Alexander and his cousin Fred 3riggs, spent Sunday at the formers arents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander. Misses Frances Roper and Mae Wickman are spending a few days with friends in Jonesville. Mrs. Sears and son, Vern were in the neighborhood Sunday. Mr. T. P. Walker and Mrs. Sophia Turner were called to Battle Creek by the death of Mrs. c. L. Hogue. Mrs. C. Moses visited friends at the Center several days last week. Miss May Chesher of Marshall was the guest of Miss Matte Bell last Sunday. John Garin spent Sunday with his daughter, Mrs. Stephen Douling in Homer. Misa Young, of Leslie visited Clara Southwell this week. Mrs. A. Wilder and daughter Audrey of Albion are visiting at R. J. Emerys. |
