John Martin, aged 68 years, died suddenly at his home, two miles east of Kurtz, Tuesday evening, January 20. He had been complaining three or four days but had not been bedfast all the time. Tuesday evening when supper was called he got up and walked into the dining room. He walked back into his room and laid down on the bed. After supper, members of the family went into the room again and found him dead on the bed. Mr. Martin was a well known and useful citizen. Funeral Thursday.

Elmer Loftus, the telephone lineman took a dose of medicine at his home of his mother on High street last night. There was some mistake about the medicine and what he took made him wild for the time being. Dr. Graessle and Dr. Kyte were called in and after a while brought him around all right. Elmer is all right today and is at work as usual.
