who have been visiting Mrs. Cudgel's mother,
left for Kokomo Tuesday morning.
Shepard Whitcomb, who teaches room No. 3, is laid up with the mumps. Charles Swarthout is here from Indianapolis on business. Beaty Bros. will take one of their engines to Wohrer's saw mill, west of town, to do a lot of sawing for Mr. Wohrer. Our esteemed postmaster, D. W. Dodd, is at home again after a four weeks' stay in Indianapolis, where he underwent a successful operation for cataracts, having had one removed from each eye. There is a prevalent opinion that cataracts can not be removed until it reaches a certain stage, requiring for its development from two to ten years; but the case of Mr. Dodd proves that cataract may be removed at any stage.
