Diane Sue Dempsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Francis Dempsey, celebrated her first birthday recently by being honored at a dinner. Diane's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs John Reuter, also celebrated their wedding anniversary the same day. Those present for the celebration were: Mr. and Mrs. Virgil McCrae and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gleason and Eddie, Sterling; Mr. and Mrs. John Dempsey, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. John Reuter, Alice Faur and Diane's brothers, David and Marvin. The afternoon was spent in playing cards.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hubert planned to leave today for a holiday in Florida. They will be joined later by Dr and Mrs R. L. Baird following their custom of an annual visit and rest in the sunny south.

About 90 friends and neighbors assembled at the Prairieville school house last Friday evening to honor Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grobe who have moved to Dixon and the Leroy Long family who are moving to Polo. Games were the diversion of the evening. The Prairieville Hot Shots favored the audience with, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People" and "My Home is in Prairieville." Two songs by E. Muntean were enjoyed.

Announcement is being made of the wedding of Mrs. Grace Smith of Mt Morris and James Fisher of Mt. Morris at 7:00 Friday evening Jan 6. The ceremonv was performed by Pastor Alfred Stone in the Lutheran church. Mr and Mrs. Harold Creeden were their attendants.

Mrs. Charles W. Brink entertained at a surprise dinner party last evening in honor of Mr. Brink's birthday. The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Francis Drew, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hoover.
