Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Boyd of 907 East Fellows street, Dixon, announce the engagement of their daughter, Helen Louise, to Dr James W. Hepplewhite, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. w. Hepplewhite of 241 Pennsylvania avenue, East Liverpool, Ohio. Miss Boyd graduated from Stephens College and Syracuse University and is now a social worker in Chicago. Dr. Hepplewhite graduated from Washington and Jefferson College and Syracuse University College of Medicine and is now a resident physician at Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio. The wedding is planned for the latter part of June.

Mrs. Guy Miller again followed her custom of entertaining children at Christmas time. This year it was carried out in a series of small parties during the holiday week. As usual the children were delighted with their gifts and prizes.

Miss Joyce Batchelder spent New Years in Rockford where she was a guest of friends.

Mr. and Mrs. John Stephan and sons, Jonny Jason and Peter, went to Chicago Sunday night. Mrs. Stephan left for Los Angeles, Calf., her husband and children going to New York.

Mrs. Guy S Davis spent the week-end in Champaign where she attended the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Hopkins.

Mrs. S. W. Lehman entertained a few friends Monday evening with cards at her Bluff Park home.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hall and son are enjoying a motor trip to Florida.

Miss Janet Shaw has returned to Drake university after a visit at her home on Ravine road.
