A cooperative dinner was held
Sunday in the W. H. McGrew home,
where Mr. and Mrs. McGrew and
Mr. and Mrs. Verle Vogel were
hosts and hostesses.
The dinner was In honor of Mrs.
Edith Schrader from Denton, Montana.
Other guests at the dinner
were Mrs. Winnie Vogel, Mrs. Nellie
Brown, and Mary Jo.
Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Fort of Red Oak, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherry L. Jones to Louis L. Bradway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bradway of the Mt. Zion community. A late summer wedding is planned. Nine ladies from Corning attended the Open Day of golf at Greenfield, last Thursday. Lou Whitmore was runner up for medalist. Sally Hatton, Sid Gitz and Marney Beemer also won prizes. Jane Parker, who with her parents has been spending the past year in Corning, will leave in the immediate future for her former home in Florida. As a farewell courtesy, her Sunday School teachers, Mrs. Charles Cutter and Mrs. Ivan Beck and the twelve members of her Sunday School class, gave a party in her honor, at the Methodist church Tuesday evening. Games were enjoyed, the youngsters were served pop, and then, in playing a game of tag, found themselves at the Hill Locker, where they were served ice cream. The group presented a farewell gift to Jane. Sixteen little guests helped Marvin Earl Martens son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil H. Martens, celebrate his 7th birthday on June 25th in the afternoon. Those present were Carolyn and Dennis Knee, LeRoy Olson, Albert Olson, Ricky Van Meter, Charles Van Meter, Donna McPherren, Doyle McPherren, Janice Calkins, Jean Calkins, Jackie Calkins, Joan Dodge, ReNae Evans, Terry Evans, Donna Evans and Kay Evans. After playing games, Marvin opened his gifts, and refreshments served of ice cream, cake and a drink. Mr. and Mrs. Miles Russell of Atlantic, the grandparents, were also present.
