Miss Mahala O'Bannon and her brother Grover O'Bannon, of Flat River, Mo., and Mrs. Guy Lowry of Fontanelle, Ia., visited in the Fred Fox home Tuesday.

Rev. and Mrs. LaWrence Murphy departed Monday, June 25th, for Colorado Springs, Colo., where they will attend Western Pastors School for the coming four weeks.

Mr.Frank Meeks left Tuesday night for his home in Columbus, Ohio, after spending almost two weeks in the home of his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Meeks.

Mr, and Mrs. Virgil Connor entertained at dinner Saturday with the following quests. Mrs. Gertrude Connor and Ada, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Connor and sons, of Cheyenne, Wyo.

Mr.and Mrs. Joe Cook and family attended a family reunion of his family, Sunday at the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Cook, at Dexter. This was the first time since 1924 that the eleven living children had been together.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Caskill and Mrs. Ronald Caskill went to Kansas City, Mo., where they met Cpl. Ronald Caskill to spend the weekend in that city. Cpl. Caskill will leave soon for overseas assignment in Germany.

Mr. and Mrs. Homer Richards and Gary and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kirkman went to Greenfield Sunday where they attended a reception in the Dr. and Mrs. George Fenzell home, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fenzell. The later couple were married earlier this month.

Ida Marie Dueling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Dueling returned home Saturday evening after spending three weeks vacation with her brother and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Clint Wilkins and Bobby. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dueling and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Thompson and Linda, of Council Bluffs.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wellander and daughter Barbara, and Miss Helen Hoover, all of Des Moines, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gillet, Douglas and Cynthia. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gillet Joined the group for the evening meal. Barbara Wellander remained to spend the week in the Gillet home.

Miss Sheila Shearburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Shearburn, Visited from Wednesday until Friday ln the Troy Dueling home.

Lee Watts and his brother from Odebolt, la., Tut Anderson and Dr, B. J. Fry returned last Wednesday from a two week fishing trip into Northern Canada. They report a very successful catch of choice fish.

Those who enjoyed a picnic dinner at Lake Binder Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Grouse, Bob and Larry, Mr. and Mrs, V. M, Hiley and Arvid Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Hiley; Jack Hiley aod Lorraine Hadenfeld of Carson, Iowa.

Mrs. Raphael Mack was hostess at a bridge party Monday evening, June 23th, tables arranged for twelve guests. Mrs, Richard Cantier was co-hostess of the evening. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Lindy Stargell and Mrs. Ray Curry. A delicious dessert was served after the card games.

More than one hundred friends and neighbors were privileged to call at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Schroeder Tuesday, June 19th. to honor her on her one hundredth birthday, and to talk over the happenings of the many years they had lived neighbors, and shared the experiences of a long and busy life. This marked the first time that both sides of her family had ever met since she had moved to her prairie home in 1875. The only other living member of the Englehart family present was her sister, Mrs. Julia A. Hall of Rockford, ill., and her three daughters, Mrs. Eunice Westenberg of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Helen Harvey of Chicago and Mrs. Ivy Spealman, of Coleta. Ill. A nephew, Wellington Hall of Paducah Kentucky, sent a congratulatory telegram. as did Grayce Porler and family, of Cedar Falls. Relatives representing the Schroeder side of the family were her niece, Mrs. Emma Schroeder and son Howard, her daughter Harriett and husband, Ryy Major. and also her daughter Edna Roepke. all from Elwood Nebraska.
