Mr. and Mrs. Edward McGrath and family, Waterbury, are vacationing at Bay View.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Thomson, Oxford, are planning a week's vacation in Maine.

Mr. and Mrs. James Pettit, Beebe street, will leave this weekend for a vacation at Quonochontaug, R. I.

Miss Sally Walkur, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Philip Walker, 151 Millville avenue is spending the summer with Dr. and Mrs. Bradford Walker, In Cornwall, Conn.

Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Church, and daughters, Hackensack, N. J., have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Squires, Park avenue.

Frank Ficco, Oak street, will leave this week to spend his vacation at South Wellesley, Cope Cod, Mass.

Mr. and. Mrs. Thomas Dillon, and family, Waterbury. will leave Monday for a two week vacation in Canada.

Former United States Senator and Mrs. William Benton left their Southport home today, with their three younger children for a summer in France. The Bentons were scheduled to sail aboard the S.S. Independence at noon today. Mr. Benton will return to the United States in September, after visiting the London offices of Encyclopedia Britannlca of which he is Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Benton and the children will remain abroad for a year, before they return to Southport. Mr. Benton will Join them for the Christmas and Easter holidays. The children are Louise 16; Helen, 16; and John 11. An older son, Charles, was married June 13 and Is now In Jamaica on a wedding trip.

Funeral services for Miss Mary Ellen Kennedy, 174 Meadow street, who died Tuesday morning at her home after a long illness, will be held tomorrow at 8:30 a. m. from the C. H. Green Funeral Home, Terrace avenue, to St. Francis Church for a solemn high Mass at 9. Burial will be In St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p. m.

Funeral services for Michael Barsdwicz, 65, Haggerty Court, Union City, who died Monday after a long illness were held today at 7:30 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 240 North Main street, to St. Mary's Church for a high Mass of requiem at 8 o'clock, celebrated by the Rev. Thomas M. Griffin Mrs. James Doherty, organist, presented Pie Jesu. Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling, and Lead Kindly Light. Fr. Griffin read the prayers at the grave at St. James Cemetery. Bearers were Frank J. Bernaitis, Domenic Porsiello, Lawrence Lucas, and Walter Kolskowski.
