Miss Marion Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith, Beacon Falls, was the guest of honor at a surprise miscellaneous shower Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Henry Zigmont, Seymour. A green and white color scheme was used for decorations, and refreshments were served by the hostess. Miss Smith and Ralph Sabia, Torrington, will exchange marriage vows on Saturday in St. Peter's church, Torrington.

Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Evans will hold an open house at their home, 43 Church street, Seymour, on Sunday, April 8, from 2 to 5 o'clock in honor of Mrs. Evans parents, Mr and Mrs. Charles Bisbee, Sr., 31 Washington avenue, Seymour, who are observing the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Bisbee will mark the event on Friday, April 6, and will be honored at a family dinner at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bisbee, Jr., Pinesbridge.

Michael Sabio, 53 May street, marked his birthday on Friday April 6.

Miss Wanda V. Klimasieski, Union City, is among the class of eight student nurses who will receive caps at ceremonies to be held this evening at All Saints church Meriden, by the Meridan hospital School of Nursing.

The Naugatuck Lions club will meet this evening at 6:15 o'clock in Hall's restaurant, president Mario Schiaroli has announced.

Corporal Donald Swanson is spending a 16-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Swanson, 36 Fuller street. He is stationed at Fort Leonard, Wood, Missouri, with the Air Corps Engineers.

Mrs. Marshall McCann, Sr., announces that plans have been completed for a card party Saturday night at 8 o'clock in the Millville Library. Mrs. McGann is chairman of the committee for the affair, sponsored by the Millville Library Association.

Miss Shirley Moulton, Bridgeport, Mrs. Harold Hubbell, Pinesbridge, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moran, Beacon Falls, attended the wedding Saturday in Groveton, N. H. of Miss Marilyn Rogers to Frederick Moulton, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Moran.
