Mr. and Mrs. Don Bentley and
son, Don Keith of Seattle. Wash.,
spent the Christmas holidays at
the home of his mother. Mrs.
Gertrude Bentley of Yuma, and
with his sister and family, Mr.
and Mrs. E. L. Kissel. Marvel
Kissel of Salt Lake City spent
the holidays with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Kissel also. The
Bentleys returned to Seattle on
Wednesday and Miss Kissel to
Salt Lake on Monday.
Mrs. Bob Shaughnessy of Phoenix, student at Arizona State College, Tempe., is spending part of her vacation here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Morgensen. Mrs. Ora J. Lowery of Phoenix, is enjoying a visit at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Consaul, Mrs. Lowery plans to spend about two months here. Russell Byrd, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Byrd, who his been stationed with the Navy in Korea, surprised his parents by arriving here Christmas Eve. He has returned to Fort Ord, Calif., where he will receive his discharge. Miss Mary Lou Baham, who attends Northrup Aviation School in Inglewood, Calif., is spending vacation with relatives and friends in Yuma. Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Sinoff are spending several days in Los Angeles on a business trip. They are owners and operators of the Cable Yard Goods store. West Coast footlights are glowing brighter this year for James Bradford, grandson of Mrs. Walter E. Bradford, 1902 6th St. James is currently stage managing the Pasadena Playhouse production of "Trelawney of the Wells," directed by Victor Jory. A 1916 graduate of Yuma High School, spent two years at Arizona State College and five years active duty in the Navy before pursuing his theatrical ambitions. Now a second year student at the Pasadena Playhouse College of The Theatre Arts, James has appeared in 'The Happiest Days of Our Lives", presented at Gilmore Brown's Playbox Theatre, "Lysistrata", and "Out of the Frying Pan", in the West Balcony Theatre. He will graduate in June, 1955, with his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Buford Arnold formerly of Yuma, now of Los Angeles, arrived by airplane to spend Christmas with his mother, Mrs. H. C. Murdock, and Mr. Murdock. Mr. Arnold also visited his daughters, Judy and Linda Arnold of Yuma Valley. Houseguests now at the Murdock home are her daughter, Mrs. George Key and sons, Gene and Billy, of Los Angeles. They are remaining through the week. Mrs. Key will be remembered as Miss June Marie Arnold, of Yuma. Mr. and Mrs. I. D. Hess spent the Christmas weekend with her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Fogler of Riverside, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Morris and sons, Donald and Robert, spent Christmas weekend with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Vickory and Mrs. J. E. Morris of Long Beach, Calif. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Starr of El Paso, Tex., and Mrs. W. E. Winters of Downey, Calif. All are relatives of Edward Morris. The Starrs, while enroute home, spent a few days visiting at the Morris home in Yuma. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Torr of Humbolt, Neb., are leaving for their home after spending the holidays with their son-in-law and daughter. Lieutenant and Mrs. C. P. Duryea and children, Christine and Charles. Colonel and Mrs. Householder of Safford, were Christmas weekend guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brown and family. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Engler and daughter, Joyce, and Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Cobbs and son, Larry and Gary Lynn, returned Thursday evening from a holiday vacation trip. They spent Christmas with relatives in Dennison, Tex., and visited later with relatives in Durand, Okla. Mrs. Ida Erickson of Fresno, Calif., spent the holidays with her daughter, Mrs. Dora E. Hart. F. L. Gunckel AE-3 SN, left Thursday for Jacksonville, Fla., where he is an instructor of electronics and mathematics in the Fleet Airborne Electronics Training Unit, Atlantic Fleet. He graduated from Advanced Aviation Electronics School at Jacksonville, in October. He spent the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Gunckle of Shady Palm Lane. J. Shainberg of Memphis, Tenn., is a winter visitor in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Harold Gordon. He is Mrs. Gordon's grandfather and great grandfather to the Gordon children. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bearman of Los Angeles, will he here soon to visit with Mr. Shainberg and the Gordon family. Mrs. Mae Pritchard has returned to her home in Long Beach, Calif., after a visit at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pritchard. Mrs. Floyd Bosworth had as houseguests over Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cross and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Cross of Fort Worth, Tex. Guests at the Bosworth home New Year were, Mrs. Wallace Johnson of Roy, N. M., Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Tower of Denver, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hawk of Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. Howard Salyer entertained at luncheon Tuesday at 1 o'clock in her lower valley home. The affair was given in honor of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Tom Salyer, who with her husband is visiting here from Chicago. Ill. Luncheon was served buffet. Each guest was presented a beautiful brooch by the hostess. After luncheon, the remainder of the afternoon was spent informally. The guest list included: Mesdames C. A. Johnson. O. L. Carlisle, Dale Dunbar. John H. Ray.
