Mr.and Mrs. Roy Dunkard, went over to Guntersville, Monday for the last of the Guntersville Civic Music Association series, where they heard a two piano team. Also included in Guntersville's series was a ballet. Because of the large number of subscriptions, maybe next year Cullman can do as well However, we're proud of the ones we're getting this year.

Saw lots of Cullman folks in Birmingham, over the week-end, many of whom had gone down for the ice show. Ran into the Robert Rossons, Saturday, and Mrs. Leroy Bledsoe, Mrs. Leonard Lumsden and Mrs. Julian McPhillips.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hudson and Rebecca went down to the ice show as did Mr. and Mrs. Alex Millar on the same night, though neither knew the others were going, and had gotten their tickets at separate times. Out of the many tickets sold to that packed audience, they were very pleasantly surprised to find that their seats were right next to each other.

Mrs. Elbert Ponder, took Suzanne and Joyce down to the ice show where they met Mr.Ponder, who, with Andrew Hodges, had been attending a two-day meeting of directors of the Dale Carnegie Courses at the Tutwiler Hotel. They returned Sunday night.

Mrs. Thelma Wise, laboratory technician at the Cullman Hospital, is improving in Jefferson-Hillman Hospital in Birmingham, after an operation on her ankle several weeks ago.

Little Harry Fuller, Jr., is confined to his home with chicken pox.

Mr. and Mrs. Hopper Nolen of Birmingham, spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dunlap.

Mr. J. M. Kilpatrick, remains ill in Jefferson-Hillman Hospital, where he will undergo surgery in several weeks. His daughter, Mrs Larry McPherson, visited him several times during the past week. Terrell Underwood went down to see him Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. C. R. McMeans, entertained with a small dinner party Wednesday night in honor of Cecil Romine, and Miss Tula McDaniels, of Arab, who will be married on Sunday. Only members of the family attended the dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bland, went to Memphis recently to attend the wedding of Mrs. Bland's brother, William Russell. Mrs. Bland was bride's matron in the wedding.

Mrs. J. A. Dunlap invited her sister and two sisters-in-law to her home last weekend for a reunion, as they hadn't been together in a number of years. The ladies who came were her sister, Mrs. Hattie Barnett, from Anniston, and her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lucy Schlosser, of Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. Dwight Schlosser, who lives here.

Dr. and Mrs. Bob Williford spent the weekend in Birmingham. Dr. R. E. Williams, and Bruce Pylant, flew down to join them on Sunday.

Dr. and Mrs. G. W. Bledsoe write from Chicago, where Dr. Bledsoe is attending a dental clinic, that they are having a wonderful time seeing all the new shows and the sights. They left Saturday, and will return this Friday.

Congratulations to Paul Meadows, Jr., and Doris Jean Grantham, of White City, who were married February first.

Mrs. J. R. Alldredge, had a "house full" of company Wednesday. Her niece, Mrs. Fay Smith, and husband of Hammond, La., and her sisters, Mrs. H. M. Kemp, of New Orleans, and Mrs. B. F. Waidrop of Birmingham, all came up for a spend-the-day. Mr. Alldredge has been in Yazoo City, Miss., on business for the past three weeks.

Mr.and Mrs. F. D. Peebles, of Decatur, spent the weekend with Mrs. Leroy McEntire and the Herschel Thompsons.

Mr. and Mrs. James V. Jordan of Montgomery, were visitors in Cullman, Thursday. Mr. Jordan is Budget Director for the State of Alabama.

Dr. and Mrs. E. B. Barnes, had as their guests on Sunday, Mrs. E. B. Barnes, Sr., of Demopolis, CoL Herman Skinner, of Birmingham, Dr. and Mrs. W. V. Stough and infant son of Anniston, and Mrs. Gertrude Metz, Cincinnati. Mrs. Barnes reported a fine day although the company was entirely unexpected and arrived in several groups.

Miss Eva Rae Kennedy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Kennedy of Cullman, and William R. McCollum, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. McCollum of Rome, Ga, were married in luka, Miss, Friday evening, February 3rd. Rev. G. N. Gober, minister of ths First Baptist church, luka, performed the ceremony at his home. Mrs. H. M. Vest, the bride's attendant, wore a navy blue suit, with pink accessories, and an orcbid shoulder corsage. The bride chose a beige gabardine suit, with cocoa accessories, and an orchid corsage. R. M. Vest, served as best man. Following a short wedding trip, the young couple are now making their home in Cullman.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Creel, spent the weekend in Pell City, with Mr. and Mrs. New Brown.

Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Dunn of Cullman, were the guests Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Walter Garner.

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Quattlebaum, visited Mrs. R. W. Quattlebaum, in Cullman Friday afternoon.

Earnest Boyd, who is working in Winter Haven, Fla., spent a few days last week at home.

Mrs. Will Rowe, is ill at her home this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hollingsworth, of Birmingham, spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Casey.

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Brown and family spent the weekend with Cullman relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Judson Gladney, announce the birth of a son, February 2nd at Cullman Hospital, They have named him James Clifford.

Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Thornton spent the weekend in Birmingham, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Templeton.

Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Oden of Tarrant, were the Saturday guests of Mr.and Mrs. L. B. Jones.

Mrs. Flora Couch, of Guntersville, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Thorn.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meadows and children of Birmingham, were the Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Meadows.

Mrs. Carter Gibbs, and Mrs. G. C. Basenberg, spent Thursday in Birmingham.

Mr. and Mrs. James Johnston, Sr., and Mrs. Homer Thigpen, spent Saturday in Birmingham.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ingle, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rice, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Rice, of Birmingham, were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Razzie Rice.

Among those to attend the violin concert of Dedy Erlih, in Cullman, Wednesday night were Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dunlap, Mrs. Mary Plunkett, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Green, Mrs. George Burkart, Mrs. C. T. Burkart, Mrs. Grady Bland, Mrs J. N. McNutt, Rev. and Mrs. E. Jankens and Miss Anna Rauchmann.

Mrs. G. T. Rowe, spent the weekend with relatives in Tuscaloosa.

Mrs. Pearl Callahan, spent Sunday in Birmingham, as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Parker.

Mr. and Mrs. George Murphree, and Don Moore, of Decatur, were the guests this weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Alec Bland.

Charles, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grantham, is ill in Cullman Hospital this week.

Misses Flossie Grantham, and Velma Creel, and Mrs. Lotus Phillips, of Birmingham, spent Tuesday afternoon here.

Paul Milam, has returned after a three weeks visit in Portsmouth, Va., and other points of interest in Virginia.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Vest, and Peggy Vest, of Birmingham, spent the weekend, with Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Vest.

Sgt and Mrs. Ray Bowman, and family of El Paso, Texas, are spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Luther Jones. They are en route to Fort Knox, Ky.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ballard, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Thigpen, spent Sunday in Jacksonville.

Dianne and Roy Howell, of Decatur, spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bev. Howell.

Mrs. Charlie Alley, and daughter, Mary Ruth, of Cullman, were the Monday afternoon guests of Mrs. Will Rowe.

Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Mann visited friends in Birmingham over the weekend.

Mrs. Odie Jones, and Mrs. Dilly White, and children of Ardmore, were the Monday guests of Rev. and Mrs. Fred Walker.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harvell spent the weekend with Decatur relatives.
